"That's More Like It" is a song written by Katy Perry, Josh Alexander, and Billy Steinberg. The song is included in Selena Gomez & the Scene's third studio album, When The Sun Goes Down. It was first registered on Katy Perry's ASCAP before being announced it would be a track in Selena Gomez's third album. Gomez has described the song as 'girl-empowering' and was glad Perry co-wrote it because she feels Perry represents girl-empowerment. Over a year after the album release, on August 25, 2012 a snippet Katy Perry's original demo leaked, followed by the leak of the full demo. It featured slightly different lyrics than Gomez's released version.[1]
Background
When giving a Track-By-Track interview with Billboard, Gomez commented on this song by saying it reminds her of a "cheeky-50's kind of theme" song. She continued by describing the song. "I feel like back then you always have assumed it's the woman who would cook for you and the guys will go to work, and the song kinds of flips that and says "You can massage my feet...you can take care of me and cook me dinner."
