"Long Shot" is a song written by Katy Perry, Greg Wells, and Matt Thiessen. The song was originally recorded by Perry's album, (A) Katy Perry, however, the song was left unused due to the album's cancellation. A music video was filmed for the song and first premiered on YouTube. The video was shot in Los Angeles, California in the same hotel room as the video for "Box".
Kelly Clarkson's version
Kelly Clarkson recorded the song in 2008 for her album, All I Ever Wanted. There are minor differences between the two versions. Clarkson's take has an added intro and longer end chorus while Perry's version lacks the intro and doesn't run as long at the end, but has an added bridge. An unreleased revision of Perry's version was leaked onto the web in 2009. The revision includes a intro similar to Kelly Clarkson's but has slightly altered instrumentals. This is the second song that Clarkson recorded from (A) Katy Perry, the other being "I Do Not Hook Up".
